Asked to Withdraw Cash? Contact Us First

Market USA will never ask you to withdraw cash or transfer funds at someone’s direction. See how these scams work and how to verify a call.

Scam Alert: Requests to Visit a Branch and Withdraw Funds

Fraudsters may contact members by phone, text message, or email while pretending to represent Market USA. In some cases, they instruct the member to go to a branch immediately and withdraw cash or move money from their account.

This is a scam.

Market USA will never contact you and ask you to withdraw cash, purchase gift cards, send a wire, move money to another institution, or share security codes or passwords.

If anyone makes a request like this, do not follow their instructions.

How the scam usually works

The caller may:

  • “Spoof” the phone number so it appears Market USA is calling.
  • Claim there is fraud on your account and urgent action is required.
  • Say that you are under investigation and must follow their directions.
  • Direct you to go to a branch to withdraw funds to “keep your money safe.”
  • Tell you what to say to staff or ask you not to mention the call.
  • Ask for online banking credentials or one-time passcodes.

Their goal is to create panic and keep you from verifying the story.

Why this is a red flag

Any request that pressures you to:

  • Act immediately
  • Keep secrets from credit union employees or family, or
  • Move money in unusual ways

should be treated as fraudulent.

Even if the caller sounds professional or has some of your personal information, it does not mean they are legitimate.

What you should do instead

If you receive a call or message like this:

  • Hang up or stop responding.
  • Do not withdraw or transfer money.
  • Contact Market USA directly so we can review your account.

We will gladly confirm whether a communication from us is legitimate.

Help us protect you

If possible, note:

  • the phone number or email that contacted you

  • and whether you shared any information or complied with their request

This helps our team warn other members and stop additional attempts.

Your security is extremely important to us. When in doubt, contact us directly using a trusted method before taking action.
