DocuSign Notary On-Demand is a Remote Online Notarization (RON) service enabling members to complete notarizations remotely, eliminating the need for branch visits. The process is initiated by Market USA Federal Credit Union during regular business hours. Utilizing secure audio-visual technology and identity-verification tools, members are connected with licensed notaries through DocuSign’s trusted network and supports notarization from any internet-enabled device.

Before You Start

Before beginning your Notary On-Demand session, please make sure you have everything listed below. Having these ready will help ensure a smooth, uninterrupted experience.

  • A valid government issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or state-issued ID)
  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a working camera and microphone
  • Reliable high-speed internet
  • Your first and last name, date of birth, current address, and last four digits of your Social Security Number
  • Ability to complete identity verification questions (5 multiple choice questions based on your credit history)
  • Ability to upload or scan your ID
  • Each signer uses their own device if both a primary and joint signer are required

Step-by-Step Notary On-Demand Process

To begin, you’ll first be asked to review and accept the notary agreement.

This agreement explains the secure, compliant online notarization process, including the use of audio and video during your session.

Next, your device will complete a quick audio and video check to make sure

  • Your camera and microphone are working properly
  • Your connection meets security requirements for online notarization

This step helps ensure a smooth, user-friendly experience during your live notary session.

You’ll then move into the secure identity verification process.

You will be asked to enter information such as:

  • First and Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Current Address
  • Last four digits of your Social Security Number

This information is used only for identity verification purposes and is designed to reduce risk and help protect against fraud.

Next, you’ll complete knowledge-based authentication, which includes:

  • Answering five multiple choice questions based on your credit history

These questions add an additional layer of protection and help confirm your identity before notarization can proceed.

You will then be prompted to upload or scan a valid government issued photo ID, such as:

  • Driver’s license
  • Passport
  • State-issued ID

If you’re using a device without a camera, you may be asked to switch to a smartphone to complete this step.

Be sure to allow camera access on your device so your ID can be captured clearly.

This step is a key part of the secure, identity-verified notarization process.

Once your identity is verified:

  • You will either be connected to a live notary immediately, or
  • Shown a short wait time while the next available notary joins

The notary session takes place through a secure audio and video connection and is built with protections to meet online notarization requirements.

During the live session, the notary will:

  • Confirm your identity verbally
  • Review the document(s) with you
  • Explain what will be signed and notarized

When ready, you’ll sign your document(s) electronically while the notary observes in real time. The notary then applies their official digital seal, completing the notarization.

This fast, streamlined process allows documents to be completed securely, without printing, travel, or appointments.

Your signed documents are delivered electronically, and you’ll receive a DocuSign email notification confirming completion.
