Your Information and Our Commitment to Security

Your privacy and security are important to us. This notice outlines a data security incident involving one of our service providers, what it may mean for you, and the steps being taken to protect your personal information.

A data security incident involving one of our third-party service providers has occurred. Market USA Federal Credit Union takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously, and we want to ensure you are fully informed.

As part of the incident, it was determined that Social Security numbers and dates of birth may have been accessed.

Please be aware that data breaches are an increasing risk across many organizations. As a result, certain personal information may already be exposed elsewhere. We encourage you to take proactive steps to protect your identity, including monitoring your accounts and considering a fraud alert or credit freeze.

What We Are Doing to Protect You

To safeguard your information and minimize any potential harm:

  • We offer free credit monitoring through TransUnion, which is available to our members via our App and Online Banking as an added layer of protection.
  • We have confirmed that the third-party vendor has implemented extensive security enhancements, including fully patching firewall devices, rebuilding affected infrastructure, deploying endpoint detection tools, and strengthening access controls.
  • We continue to review and assess our third-party relationships to ensure appropriate security standards are maintained.

What You Can Do

We recommend that you take the following steps to protect yourself:

  1. Enroll in our free credit monitoring if you have not already done so. Log in to our App or Online Banking, select the “Financial Wellness” menu, and then choose “Credit Monitoring, Offers, & More.”

  2. Remain vigilant over the next 12 to 24 months and promptly report any suspected identity theft to us.

  3. Review your account statements regularly and contact us immediately if you notice any suspicious activity.

  4. Place a fraud alert on your credit file by contacting any one of the three nationwide credit reporting agencies. Once your request has been processed, the agency you contact will inform the remaining two, eliminating the need for separate requests.

  5. Freeze your credit reports (free with all three major credit bureaus) using the options provided below.

  6. Obtain and review your credit reports periodically at annualcreditreport.com.

  7. Visit the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at identitytheft.gov or call 877-438-4338 for guidance. If you believe you are a victim of identity theft, we strongly encourage you to report it to the FTC.
