Market USA Cares Foundation Supports Elizabeth House with $2,500 Grant

We are proud to share that the Market USA Cares Foundation has awarded a $2,500 grant to Elizabeth House, Fish of Laurel, Inc., an all-volunteer nonprofit serving the greater Laurel, Maryland community.

Since 1976, Fish of Laurel has been a beacon of hope for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Operating entirely on donations and volunteer support, the organization runs Elizabeth House, the only meal kitchen in northern Prince George’s County. Volunteers serve hot meals every evening and operate a food pantry twice a week, distributing fresh produce and essential groceries to hundreds of local residents.

In 2024 alone, Elizabeth House served over 48,000 meals, averaging 130 meals per day — a testament to the growing need in the community. With food insecurity affecting nearly 50% of households in Prince George’s County, this grant from Market USA Cares Foundation comes at a critical time.

The $2,500 contribution will help Fish of Laurel continue its mission of “neighbors helping neighbors,” funding essential supplies for meal preparation and pantry distribution. Every dollar makes a difference, and this generous support will directly impact the lives of those who rely on Elizabeth House for nourishment and dignity.
