Fresh Start Loan Application

The Fresh Start Loan was designed to help members to develop credit worthiness while getting in the habit of setting aside money for savings. With each payment made to your loan, an equal portion of that payment is deposited into your sub-share (savings) account. While the balance of your loan decreases with each full payment, your savings increases. Your Fresh Start Savings Account is pledged as collateral for your Fresh Start Loan.

To apply for a Fresh Start Loan, apply online, visit a Market USA branch, or call 800-914-4268 or 301-586-3400.

  • No Credit Check is required
  • A minimum of (6) six months of verified employment is required and must be within the last (30) thirty days prior to the loan request (excluding seasonal employment). Applicants who are retired or receiving Social Security and/or Pension benefits are eligible without (6) six months of income verification
  • You must have Direct Deposit of net pay (minimum of $500/month) currently coming into your Market USA FCU account.
  • Borrow $500 with terms up to 10 months (No auto pay discount on this loan)
  • The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is 18%
  • A $30.00 non-refundable fee is due at time of application
  • A required separate non-interest bearing Fresh Start Savings Account must be opened
  • A minimum monthly payment of $50 is required
  • (Example of Distributions):
    • Weekly distribution of $25 = $12.50 loan payment and $12.50 Fresh Start Savings deposit
    • Bi-Weekly distribution of $50 = $25.00 loan payment $25.00 Fresh Start Savings deposit
    • When the loan is paid in full, you would have saved at least $500 in your Fresh Start Savings Account. At that time, all monies in the Fresh Start Savings will be made available to you

Telephone Banking allows you to access your credit union account(s) from any touch tone phone by calling 301-586-3450 or 800-764-4268.
